Instead of Duvet Day, companies could let employees take a day at will to join a protest that is gaining momentum.
Duvet Days need updating.
In a world on fire, the urgent need is not to sleep in.
But to rise up.
If there is to be a future, it will require sustained and creative protest.
Preplanned weekend marches no longer work, if they ever have.
Demo Days would give employees the chance to join street movements that are blowing up.
And thereby multiply their impact.
Potential employees would note this signal of a company’s values.
Current employees would welcome a perk with actual meaning.
And employers could join themselves.
They too need a world to live in.
