CLIMATE COMMS LAB

As indisputable evidence of the climate emergency grows, so does public concern.

But does it translate into public protest and pressure?

We need to scale activism beyond the progressive left to a much broader range of citizens.

One frame that hasn't been fully brought to life in the UK at least, is that of world war-level mobilisation.

Everyone now agrees there's an emergency. But it's treated as a minor manageable emergency, not an existential threat.

Reaching back in the collective memory to World War 2 provides a more appropriate framework for action.

We need the urgent and full-blown mobilisation of all society and state resources, not piecemeal steps to a faraway 2050.

This campaign and platform will try to bring this vision to life, and channel people's increasing concern into effective public pressure on governments, to counter that of the fossil fuel and other greenhouse gas emitters.
